CONSTRUCTION AND PLANT HIRE
Mthiyane Construction opened the Construction and Plant Hire Division in the mid 20th Century and has over the years amassed a fleet of plant equipment that is fully operational at various major projects in the KZN Region. Over the years Mthiyane Construction has built a strong and solid relationship with their customers in various organisations such as eThekwini Municipality, Department of Transport and various other Municipalities in the KZN Region.
Our Plant fleet has been successfully deployed in various joint venture projects with the following major holders in the construction industry namely: Afro-Structure, Rapid, Grinaker, Scribante Civils & Morgado Plant Hire. Our scope of work includes bulk earth works, road construction and site cleaning and levelling.
CONSTRUCTION - CIVIL ENGINEERING
Our extensive Earthworks experience extends from:
- Bulk earthworks- whereby we process cut to fill and compaction of gravel material for warehouse platforms and Road Construction.
- Layer works - fillinf, cutting od gravel material in layers to correct levels and compaction of the material to the required densities.
- Water, Sewer and Storm Water Reticulation - Excavating trenches, laying pipes to the correct standards and testing connections and construction chambers.
- Sewer Reticulation - Excavating trenches, laying pipes and construction of sewer ring manholes.
- Storm Water Reticulation - Excavating trenches, laying concrete lined pipes and box culverts and construction of manholes and inlet structures.
- Road construction - Construction of Provincial roads according to the Department of Transport standards and specifications starting from bulk Earthworks to surface finishing.
- Re-gravelling of Rural Roads - Tipping, spreading and compaction of gravel material by means of a grader, roller and watercart according to the Deprtment of Transport standards and specifications.
- Rehabilitation of roads- Repairing damaged roads by means of reestablishing underlying Layer works to the correct Standards and Specification
PLANT HIRE
The Plant Hire Division specialises in civil work and the hiring out of trucks and earth working machinery. Over the years the company has acquired a wide range of earth works plant machinery that it hires out namely:
